Baby Attends Paul McCartney Concert

How often does one get to hear a living legend, I mean, a freaking Beatle? At 2 p.m. Wednesday, we bought tickets for the Charlotte show, and by 3:30, Brandon, Kathy, Cindy, and I (and of course baby) were on our way. All My Bags Are Packed...

37 Weeks, and counting...

Amazing diaper bags, ready to go for real baby use. Sleeping bag for dad at the hospital. Suitcase, check.

The good news is, there are 3 cm I won't have to dilate when I go into labor.
The bad news is, who knows when that will be :).

We've practiced our breathing techniques, the car seat is installed, and our bags are packed. In the meantime, we're continuing our summer of nesting. Along with fixing up the nursery, we have seriously remodeled the master bedroom, added a master bathroom, and refinished the kitchen floors. Brandon, missing his old projects, is now building a built-in wall bookshelf. I'm painting outdoor trim like doors and windows.

Hiking the Channels

Friday, Steele and I hiked 3 miles up the side of Clinch Mountain with Leigh and Ginny Lou and their dog Shotzy. It was a pretty arduous hike, but by well worth the stunning reward of massive stone mazes at the top of the mountain. After hiking another 3 miles down, both Steele and I were happily exhausted, though Baby Story just napped the whole time.

The Little Nursery That Could

We're ready... Thanks to our family and friends, Baby Story now has a very blue and train themed nursery. We are stocked with disposable and cloth diapers, washed clothes from size Newborn to 18 months, baby bedding, stroller, car seat with both bases, bath supplies, safety supplies, you name it.

Last night, Brandon helped me hang stuff on the walls. Though he's not a fan of wall shelves, he even put up this little shelf so I could display the little train I painted and hang up the ducky towel and baby monitor.

We have 4 1/2 weeks left, but lately older women have been advising me to add 2 weeks to that so that I don't get disappointed if my due date comes and goes without any action.

Crib, quilt, and bear.

Brandon's great grandparent's rocking chair. Curtains. Chicco stroller.

Closet and door organizer.

Tree painting. Changing table. Swing. Diaper champ.
